Picture of Krystyna Slany
Krystyna Slany is a full professor at the Institute of Sociology of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow .   She specializes in social demography, in migration issues and the sociology of family and gender issues. She heads the Department of Intersectional Social Research at the Institute of Sociology. She is a member of the Migration Research Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences and a member of the Sociology Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Prof. Slany publishes in books and in a academic journals on the topics of migration, families as well as on gender equality issues. She has expertise in investigations on migration and transnational families, on the integration of migrant children, their identities, their education, the inclusion of female migrants on the labour market the society, and the impact of gender equality on the quality of life in different spheres of life. She has been involved in numerous international research funded by the European Union, Norwegian Funds and National Centre for Science  in Poland.
